Have fun making playfully shaped vegetables. This veggie deco slicer makes it easy to replace pasta with carrot spaghetti, zucchini chiffonnade or tagliatelle, or potato ribbons. Create decorative salads with tomato flowers or cucumber spirals. The veggie deco slicer has 3 blades for 3 different cuts. 1 - Ribbons, 2 - 1/6th inch julienne strips and 1/3rd inch julienne strips. All three blades stack together for storage plus the hand guard lets you grate the entire vegetable.
Features and Benefits:
3 stackable slicers plus the safety food guard holder
3 stainless steel cutting blades, ribbon cutter, 1/6th inch julienne strips, 1/3rd inch julienne strips
Slicer cone is small and not exceptionally easy to handle. It needs to held in the palm of your hand for grip. There are no visible markings on each cone to indicate which blade is which. First item we tried to slice was a cucumber. Slicer jammed upon reaching seeds. Will continue to try next with a smaller zucchini or larger tomato. Don't visualize it being usable with smallest items as a radish. Finally, while it was nested prettily in the package, the cones do not click together in any manner, so when storing they need to be in baggie or some option to keep them all together.
This tool is easy to use to make vegetables into beautiful, creative shapes for either cooking or in salads. I chose to spiral cut some cucumbers and then made them into refrigerator pickles; which are great to pile onto sandwiches! The only issue I had with this tool is that every now and then (at least with cucumbers) the blade can get a bit jammed up with the peel.
