The pot boils 48 ounces of water in under 6 minutes, a definite plus. It took a little over four weeks for the adhesive holding the glass to the metal to cure before the water tasted "normal".

Horrible product

It stinks! Who could sell such a product? It looks great, but when you smell inside the pot, the rubber/plastic smell overwhelms you and gets into the water or tea. It's absolutely horrible and we're sending it back to you immediately. No one could ever use this product. You should NOT ever sell it to anyone.

Great water kettle plus it looks good

I can't believe how fast this water kettle boils water. I use it for my French press coffee. I think it takes 1-2 minutes to boil the water. I really didn't like the look of those plastic water kettles so I kept searching until I found one that was more attractive. The Capresso looks great on my counter.

Great water kettle, fast and convenient

I was using a plastic Proctor-Silex before I purchased this one, and am so pleased I did. I was a little skeptical paying $60 for it, but I think in time, will accept the price, given how nicely it works. It is very quick, and I love the automatic shut-off once it boils, which my previous one did not have. It's very pretty, too. I'm just nervous I will break the glass carafe, but hope it will last a long time.

It does what I ask it too, well

I am very happy with it.I think it's a bit overpriced but there was no comparable product at a lower price, so I sucked it up and paid. The plastic did have an noticeable odor for a day or two, not strong but noticeable. It was completely gone after that.

Water boils quickly, water level is easy to see and container is easy to clean. The heating element is very easy to clean. I don't have to clean around coils. Overall, I am happy.

Love this for quick hot water, boils water very quickly, within minutes. Cleans easily. Auto shut off is great but sometimes wish it could keep water warm. Guess it can't stay on to keep water on warm as a safety measure. Product is very attractive & a great value. I've seen same functiionality for much more $$$ at fancy cooking shops. Stores away easily too if you don't want it left out. Cord tucks underneath the heating element for a clean look.

I purchased one of these for my husband as a Christmas gift. I haven't seen him this excited about something in a long time. He would watch it, yes a watch pot does boil, and say I love this. I really, really like this. Trust me this is a huge compliment. He uses it along with his coffe press. I purchased one for our daughter to go along with her coffe press. She loves it. With work, school and 3 kids fast is a good thing. I recommended it to other family members and sent them info from your website. Best yet, the price was great. Trust me I've searched around and this is a great price for this item. It is easy to use and easy to care for. Let's not forget that it is energy efficient and safe. It boils water fast and turns off on its own! What a great product and apparently entertaining! It's made of cear glass.

Absolutely Fantastic!

This is the very best concept in teakettles that I have ever seen! I not only bought one for my mother, but am looking forward to buying several more for gifts along with one for myself to replace an electric teakettle that I already own! It's a phenomenal product!!!

Fast Water Kettle

Zippy fast........cool temperature water to boiling in 90 seconds!

Clean looking, elegant, works as described. If America's Test Kitchen likes it, I personally have found their recommendations to be "spot-on" 95% of the time.
This product hits the mark!

had to replace a kettle that i bought which heated really well but it looked like some of the plastic was being boiled off.....scary. i found this ....read the reviews and all seems like it was something that would fit in our small office. saw the remarks regarding the chemical smell.................followed the instructions and did an initial "boil"......................and from there it was great! Heating is so quick......................and the Glass body makes it cool to watch ;) If i had any complaints, it would be that at the end of the use for that day.........you really have to make sure wipe it dry - especially the metal part at the bottom of the kettle that heats the water.......minerals start to deposit .....and stain. otherwise, this is a GREAT buy and really easy for even a small office that has NO KITCHEN area. Definitely will get one for my apartment since I am a tea drinker!

Great tea pot: affordable, fast, and stylish

I have been very happy with this tea pot. I love the look and it heats water in almost 1/2 the time as my older one. Unlike others, I have not encountered the issues others have reported of a persistent plastic smell. I filled and boiled water 4 times before initial use. The plastic smell disappeared after a couple of uses. This pot was more expensive than the one I had previously, but I like it much better and I love watching the water boil in the pot.

the product simply does its job! Boils water quickly and without thinking! Click the switch on, walk away and the water is ready! Does a good job retaining heat for some time after the original boil. Looks good on the counter as well!

boils water in a breeze

i love design of these kettle and functionality.It's very light and easy to use.I would like it little bigger so we could boil more water at once when bigger company of tea lovers arrives-but this is minor issue.I owned Krups kettle before this one but it started leaking water at the "window".It was also MUCH heavier.I'm very happy with this beauty.

great buy - worth every penny

We use this kettle every day and after the first boil it lost that new kettle smell... The glass carafe is attractive on the counter and allows you to see the water boil - entertaining and I get to see the progress as I prep other things. Auto shut-off is a brilliant add on and a must-have for an electric kettle. Would absolutely buy again!

Love it!!

Bought this kettle on the recommendation of America's Test Kitchen, and once again they hit it out of the park! It replaced a plastic kettle, which made the water taste weird and who knows what kinds of artificial hormones it was infusing my water with. This kettle is not only elegant, but quick, functional, and energy efficient. I drink about 10 cups of tea a day and I would be lost without my Capresso kettle!

Speedy

Never again will I boil water on the stove or in the microwave! This water kettle is fast! It doesn't take up much counter space either. Also, I have not noticed any bad taste that others have written about.

Beatiful design and perfect function

I had been wanting an electric kettle for some time. This one is a real find! It not only looks great (it does), but it is convenient, easy to clean, and works very fast. An excellent purchase!
