    • Fast and beautiful boiling

We bought this electric boiler for two reasons: we wanted quick boiling water for our busy mornings in the kitchen, and because it is visually appealing. You may find good boilers cheaper, but none as beautiful. It is fun to see the bubbles form on the metal dome and to see the water at a rolling boil (6 minutes for a full pot). We've been using it daily for about 6 weeks with no problems. The hard-water deposits that form inside come clean with a quick vinegar treatment outlined in the user guide.

    • 1.5-qt. Black H20 Plus Glass Water Kettle by

First, don't listen to the other reviewers who say the "plastic" smell never goes away. It is somewhat strong at first but I just boiled a few pots of water and it was greatly reduced. You are going to want to do this anyway when you first get it because it is so cool. Then, after about 5 days of normal use it was gone completely. We leave water in there pretty much all the time, so that may help too. The smell is probably from whatever they use to seal the Stainless heating element to the glass. It probably just takes a few heating cycles to fully cure it and remove residual solvents.

On to performance... This thing boils a full pot (6 cups) in 4 minutes. If you are looking to brew just a quick cup, it only takes 1 minute. When it finishes boiling, it shuts off automatically. If you come back later and want more, you just switch it back on and it quickly re-boils. There is no cord to get in your way when pouring, and it really looks great. I would buy it again... and again... and again.

      I recommend this product.

The glass water kettle is a pleasure to use and look at on the counter. The only negative has been the strong (plastic?) smell noted by numerous users. Fortunately after three weeks it has pretty much gone away.

    • Love this for quick hot water, boils water very quickly, within minutes. Cleans easily. Auto shut off is great but sometimes wish it could keep water warm. Guess it can't stay on to keep water on warm as a safety measure. Product is very attractive & a great value. I've seen same functiionality for much more $$$ at fancy cooking shops. Stores away easily too if you don't want it left out. Cord tucks underneath the heating element for a clean look.

    • Love it!

The more I use it, the more I like it. We drink a lot of tea and this is much better than boiling water on the stove or microwaving it. It's also handy for topping off pots of boiling potatoes, pasta and the like. It looks nice on the counter next to out stainless coffeepot and grinder. I also bought one for my tea drinking daughter who also now loves it. The plastic smell went away quickly and isn't an issue.

    • Glass Water Kettle by Capresso

I hesitate to review it because we haven't had it that long so I don't know how it stands the test of time. I also thought it was a little pricey but the price is pretty much what you have to pay for a good water boiler. It's very fast and I like that it turns off once it reaches a boil. It's also attractive sitting on the countertop

I have to to treat it periodically for calcium build-up because of our water. This is of course not the fault of the kettle! I simply boil a little water and vinegar together and it cleans up fine. This has to be done pretty frequently. The good news is I can see the calcium build-up because the kettle is glass.

I wouldn't recommend it to someone who has water calcium problems (usually rural areas with well water) unless he or she is willing to keep up with cleaning the calcium deposit on a regular basis.

    • Hot Water Kettle

      Pros:
My primary reason for buying this kettle was to boil water fast, and it does this well. We didn't really want to give up work space or increase the visual clutter by adding another full time appliance to the kitchen counter so size and appearance were important criteria. The transparent kettle and it's little pod that stores any extra cord is as minimal as you can get.
      Cons:
The plastic. There has been a

I love this kettle because of the glass carafe. It doesn't appear to take up as much space on the counter because of that, and it's pleasant to be able to see the boiling water... you can tell from across the room when it's about ready. It's sleek, pretty, and does what it's supposed to do. That's enough for me!

    • It does what I ask it too, well

I am very happy with it.I think it's a bit overpriced but there was no comparable product at a lower price, so I sucked it up and paid. The plastic did have an noticeable odor for a day or two, not strong but noticeable. It was completely gone after that.

Water boils quickly, water level is easy to see and container is easy to clean. The heating element is very easy to clean. I don't have to clean around coils. Overall, I am happy.

    • Great water kettle, fast and convenient

I was using a plastic Proctor-Silex before I purchased this one, and am so pleased I did. I was a little skeptical paying $60 for it, but I think in time, will accept the price, given how nicely it works. It is very quick, and I love the automatic shut-off once it boils, which my previous one did not have. It's very pretty, too. I'm just nervous I will break the glass carafe, but hope it will last a long time.

    • Great water kettle plus it looks good

I can't believe how fast this water kettle boils water. I use it for my French press coffee. I think it takes 1-2 minutes to boil the water. I really didn't like the look of those plastic water kettles so I kept searching until I found one that was more attractive. The Capresso looks great on my counter.

    • Horrible product

It stinks! Who could sell such a product? It looks great, but when you smell inside the pot, the rubber/plastic smell overwhelms you and gets into the water or tea. It's absolutely horrible and we're sending it back to you immediately. No one could ever use this product. You should NOT ever sell it to anyone.

Nice fast boil, automatic off prevents burning the pot (a personal nemesis) and the markings on the side of the kettle mean I alway have the correct amount of water. Also, it takes up very little room on the counter. Love this pot!

    • Attractive, Efficient, and Affordable

We wanted to replace our plastic electric kettle because of the dangers of leaching chemicals and slight plasticly taste in the water. Cook's magazine rated this one the highest and I looked everywhere for the best price and found it here. We've been using for several weeks now and LOVE it. It's faster than our old one and looks much nicer on the counter. The only down side is that because it's clear glass you get some water spots/hard water stains on the kettle. If you don't want them to build up you'll have to be sure to keep after them.

    • If you are a regular tea drinker, you will love this product! It is ready to go at the flip of a switch and heats water quickly without the annoying tea kettle whistle. And the best part is that it is beautiful! It is worth the price and would make an excellent gift for tea lovers.

This kettle is very good at shutting off when it has reached boiling, has a safe handle so you never feel the steam on your hand. Its fast to boil, but most of all, its gorgeous. I keep it in the office where many people can see it, and I get lots of compliments.
It's expensive, but I know the reputation of the glass manufacturer (makes laboratory glass in Europe), and am counting on it lasting far longer than the cheap plastic one it is replacing.

I purchased this unit to replace my older DeLonghi that I was taking to work. The Capresso H20 Plus water kettle doesn’t have the capacity of my Delonghi (6 cups vs. 7) which is not an issue. The glass kettle gives this unit a lighter and less cluttered appearance on my kitchen counter, and I don’t feel I have to hide it away in an inconspicuous corner. I love the look, and I’m completely satisfied with its performance – and the kids love watching the water heat from start to finish.

It is a very attractive kettle you can easily keep it out on the counter. The water heated quickly and it is nice to be able to see when it was boiling. The only thing is with the glass container the water cools down pretty quickly, but it reheats quickly also.
