For taking care of such tasks, this wire mesh basket will quickly do the job. And much more efficiently too – with its raised bottom portion, all of the water drains completely and doesn't collect at the bottom of the basket. Set of 3 includes, 7-, 8.5-, 12-in.

I had to replace two colanders I have used for 20+ years. Since I could not find the same kind as my old ones (poly coated wire mesh), I ordered these as they are similar. I find that the wire mesh is not as strong as my old ones, but the sizes are fine and they work well. If I am careful with them, I am sure they will serve me well for many years.

They are what I expected - very functional. My only concern is that after some use I fear the mesh will separate from the frame - has happened with other items of this type, though so far, so good for these strainers.

These are just what I was looking.The exception was that the support wires run across the bottom,which adds problems to cleaning.I cured this by silver soldering the wires to the rings on top and bottom and then cutting the bottom wires away.

My step-daughter was cooking with me at my house and we used one of my seives that is part of the set. She asked for the set for Christmas, and is delighted to have it. These are good and sturdy.

These strainers are perfect for draining pasta or vegetables, washing salad greens or veggies or even sitting in a pot as a steamer insert. They nest for compact storage.

What can I say? These is a decent set of strainers to have around for everyday use -- rinsing veggies, etc. They're very lightweight, which makes them easy to use, though the mesh can be easily dented by pressure from your fingers. They wash well in the dishwasher and store efficiently. I use at least one size pretty much every day.

wonderful for draining tiny pastas - we also have been processing tomatoes from our harvest - these really let us get all of the juice without all of the seeds.

I shopped for strainers as mine was so old it fell apart. The new ones arrived in just a few days and I love the sizes and quality. They will be great for our garden herbs and berries. I have already used them for straining rice and vegetables.
They are very sturdy and fit well in the sink. Your food does not sit in water as the bottom of the strainers are raised a bit. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
The price was very affordable and 1 cost as much as the three of these put together.
