This Strainer is a good size, has a lip to fit on the pan or bowl, and the handle is quite comfortable.

One of the wires was broken and I had to return it. I had to pay the cost of shipping for the return. I'm much more happy with companies that cover the shipping cost for the return of defective items.

Fine Mesh

by Richard, CA
July 8, 2007

Fine mesh in this strainer really makes the differences for sauces. The sturdy steel rim and handle will stand up to use and temperatures better than a nylon rimmed strainer.

Another High Quality Product From OXO

by Taylor, MN

The strainer is very well made and should last for a long time with proper care. Fairly heavy gauge metal in the actual wire mess prevents it from deforming during normal use. Stainless steel speaks for itself. It won't stain, rust, or discolor. I'm very happy with it and would buy it again.

Watch out for this one

Mind you, this is a BIG strainer. But for the money it's the best around. Comfy handle and stainless steel will make it a part of my kitchen for a long long time.In fact, i hung it on the wall next to the stove.

top rated fine mesh strainer

by Richard, MD
February 20, 2010

This 6" OXO Steel fine mesh strainer is good looking and works as you would expect. Good weight, comfortable handle, right size mesh. I plan on ordering the larger 8" one also. They look nice in the ceramic crocks of utensils I have, easy to spot and grab. And you can throw them in the dishwasher to boot.
Top rated by Cooks Illustrated.
Note - this is the Steel line, not the Good Grips line of goods.
I just wonder why more places don't stock them. Sometimes you find one size but not the other, or they just carry the Good Grips version (similar).

Good Purchase

by Susan, NC
July 18, 2010

I don't use a mesh-type a strainer a lot, but decided I needed one. This is an excellent product and a good middle size. If I was to buy another, I would buy the 8-in. After a month, I am very happy with it.

This is the best Stainless Steel Strainer, fits perfectly over medium sauce pan! Surprised how easy it is to wash clean, even with it being such a fine mesh.

Great!

by A, DE
March 30, 2012

While it's a little smaller than I thought, it's still a great item. It cleans up well too. It is also nice and heavy. My other strainer started to show rust very early and made me nervous because of the wooden handle (bacteria and all...). But stainless steel rocks and so does this strainer!
