Excellent grinder, a few quirks

I'd give this grinder a 4.5 if I could.

I love the fine grind this creates for my lattes, and the French Press grind as well (haven't tried the other size grinds yet). I really like the look of the grinder, very modern and attractive. It grinds enough fine coffee for one latte very quickly, and without excessive noise.

There was a fluorescent flier in the box that warned about putting the bean hopper on in the right way or risk breaking the hopper. I didn't have a problem with this, but with re-assembling the grinder after cleaning (I cleaned it in the evening, then put it back together in the morning, before coffee). I accidentally placed one of the grinder parts in upside down, then when I went to put the hopper back on the grinder part got stuck! I tried (gently) prying it out with no luck (thanked my lucky stars I still had my old grinder so I could still make my morning coffee) and emailed cooking.com to see if they could help me. They couldn't, but sent me Capresso's phone number. The very nice gentleman who answered talked me through the fix (just had to rotate the black inner piece to release the grinder part) and I was back on track in under a minute!

The only other thing that is a little troublesome is that the vessel that catches the ground coffee has these corners that coffee gets easily stuck in.

This said, I am still VERY happy with the quality of the ground coffee, and the product overall.

We have purchased this grinder along with a Delonghi Bar40 espresso maker and are very pleased with both products thus far. The grinder does a quality job and the grind comes out perfect every time. We have not had a problem with this unit yet and are very pleased with the results so far. I did some research before purchasing the product as well as the Delonghi Bar40. For the price, they are both quality products. I did not read a bad review for either one of these products and would recommend them to others. They are great for first time espresso brewers like myself.

This coffee mill is very efficient. This model is much quieter than my previous Solis. I am enjoying this appliance daily.

This is most quiet one I have had yet. The grind is very precise. The timer for the aproximation of quantity is very close. Mine shuts off between the 1 and 2 scoop marks not at zero so I turn my knob up to three and it works just fine for my needs. After grinding all you have to do is tap on top a little, remove the reservoir and dump into the filter basket. Best of all it is not messy like the the other three I have owned. It is also very easy to keep clean. A better value for this product would be $90.00-$120.00 but I like it all the same.

I WAS SURPRISED THAT THE GRINDER WAS SO QUIET. THE GRINDS ARE VERY UNIFORM AND THE TIMER PRODUCES REPRODUCIBLE AMOUNTS.

VERY EASY TO CLEAN.
