This kettle is great to use, and the price was right. When it's full it heats up in about five minutes. It rotates on the base, making it great for right- and left-handed users. The auto shut-off is a great feature, too, so we don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off.

Yes | No Report Violation »I spent some time investigating the various products currently available and determined that this one offered the best combination of convenience, aesthetics and value. Now that I have had a chance to use it for a month, I have not been disappointed. The only drawback I have found is difficulty reading the water level gauge as it it placed directly behind the handle which blocks the view. On the positive side, there are several smart options incorpriated into the design such as the addition of a detachable filter, the wide stable base with 360* mounting, a way of concealing some of the power cord, a lid that locks in place and the heating element which makes no direct contact with the water.

The Chef's Choice kettle is as good as the others, although the lid doesn't open as wide as the others I''ve tried which makes it a little less easy to fill. Otherwise, I love the look and feel of it. Definitely recommended.

I bought this electric kettle as a Christmas present for my husband who drinks a lot of tea. I will say that it heats water very quickly as other reviewers stated. I really want to use it and enjoy it.
Although several reviews said there was a strong plastic odor from the plastic lid being heated, I thought several uses and a few baking soda rinses would take care of it. Not so. We have heated water in it now at least 50 times without the plastic odor of the heated lid dissipating at all. However, I'm not giving up. After more searches about how to combat plastic odor I'm about to try putting a baking soda paste on the lid to see if that helps.
This thing is close enough to instant as to be indistinguishable. My tea intake has increased 500% since I got this, I love it.
