Love Product but it LEAKS!!
I had to return the fryer because after the 2nd frying, it LEAKED all down my counter and floor. My dog began to lick up HOT OIL!!! I thank GOD she was caught and not seriously hurt! Thank you for sending me a new one, but, at $37.00 for UPS shipping cost. The new one worked fine the 1st time but LEAKED AGAIN! I read the instructions thouroughly ( I can't stress this enough, the oil does make a serious mess!). I contacted T-Fal on a Friday and they said they would get back to me that day, Monday at the latest! I had to call them Tuesday and they said I had to push in the drain box til it clicks. I pushed really hard and never heard a click. THANKS FOR NOTHING, EMERIAL!! I am telling everybody that I bought a $200.00 fryer ($165 fryer, $37 return shipping) that LEAKS HOT OIL! I can't trust the fryer and I can't afford to return it a 2nd time. I feel duped. I used to trust Emerial and T-Fal and Foodnetwork shopping. Now, I do not. I trust my old, cast iron dutch oven and thermomitor. By the way, T-Fal told me this has happened to other customers who bought the fryer, it was not unusual for this fryer to leak. Thanks for the warning.125 of 144 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
THE FRYER IS GREAT AND SO EASY TO CLEAN I ENJOY USING.
THE ONE I HAD BEFORE WAS OK BUT NOT EASY TO CLEAN AND THAT WAS THE MAIN REASON I WANTED TO BUY IT.
best deep fryer for auto oil filtering
i have owned and tried many deep fryers - but the biggest draw back
is filtering the oil. with this fryer it is all automatic. i really didn't
believe it would work but it is fantastic. three hours after using all
you have to do is move the switch to auto filtering and it is done - it
filters the oil completely - no sediment what so ever. all you have to
do is wipe the heating element clean and wash the fryer basket
and oil bin. there is no build up of cooked on oil on either. is have
been recommending this unit to all my friends who like to deep fry.
thank you t-fal for inventing such a revolutionary system for filtering
the oil. mark anderson, minnesota.
The BEST deep fryer!!
I am so please with my purchase of the deep fryer by Emerilware. I did look at the T-fal version that was a bit cheaper but opted for the digital display and I am glad. The fryer is easy to use and easier to clean up from. I love the fact that I can place all the parts (except heating element) in the dishwasher. My last deep fryer did not do that and no matter what you did it to it still had residual oil on it. Not with the Emeril deep fryer. I have used it about a dozen times and it still looks brand new. I know a couple of people had mentioned about the oil leaking. I was so worried about that after using it the first time that I place it in a big pan just in case. Well, all the oil ended up where it was supposed to go. Anyone who is looking for a new deep fryer will seriously want to consider this one.51 of 53 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? High Quality, Outstanding Performance!!
This deep fryer far surpassed my expectations. I am in the restaurant business and have extensive experience with commercial frying equipment. The quality reminds me of the equipment that we use in our business. This fryer performs at a high level and will satisfy 99% of the people who buy it. The design and ease of cleaning will astound you! Everything comes apart and can be cleaned in about 5-10 minutes. It still looks like it just came out of the box after using it for several months!!. The oil filtration design is also ingenious. By allowing the oil to be drained and stored outside the cooking area, the unit will not develop grease "build-up" in the areas that normally are hard to clean. Our family likes to cook Mexican Chimichanga's on a weekly basis. Our previous fryer could only cook 2 Chimi's at a time and the recovery time to heat the oil back up was about 10 minutes. This unit allows us to cook 4 Chimi's at a time and the recovery time is instant. You will not be disappointed if you buy this unit!!36 of 37 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? This is a great looking fryer with multiple features. The oil drainage system is a definite bonus as well as the easy to clean components. The food capacity is adequate for home applications. The greatest limitation of this appliance is the 1700 watt element. The fryer has lackluster performance and struggles to maintain oil temperature. Obviously propane and 240V fryers can surpass these issues. In comparison to my other Tfal and Presto units, this fryer is identical in its ability to heat up, recover, and maintain. Overall, it is still a good value for the average non-professional user.34 of 43 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
I have enjoyed using my new fryer. I don't have to worry about handling hot grease any more; I have been burned in the past. Mothers hate messes and so this product is a dream come true. Just let the oil cool and then move the switch and it drains automatically. I was afraid that the oil would leak when I pulled out the drip container to re-use the oil the next time I fried; however, the seal has been secure each time and NO MESS! I am so glad to have bought this cooker. Thank you for this great product!32 of 34 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
I bought this to replace a unit that had failed to stop working while it was cooking one day. I took the time to read the reviews others wrote before deciding to buy. I am glad I listened!!! We have owned deep fryers from a different manufacturer for about 6 years and after the first time using this one I realized we had been using a model from the dark ages. It heats to temperature quickly as well as frying the food quicker than our old one. The food comes out and looks great!!! I have only used it for pork chops and chicken so far but both meats are done to perfection. I like being able to drain the oil into the container and then refrigerate it to keep it from sitting on the counter. I also like that almost all the parts can go into the dishwasher. Even though the heating element cannot go into the dishwasher it cleans quickly in the sink. If you are looking for a deep fryer this is the one to buy!!!28 of 29 users found this helpful. Fryer is easy to operate. Made delicious food. Could have SLIGHTLY stronger magnet on the cord - took me a few times to get it to stay connected. The instructions could be a little clearer - some people need infinitesimal description to make things understandable. Was apprehensive about flipping the filter switch, as I read some reviews that complained about the oil draining early, but no worries. All in all, a great fun fryer - good frying is FUN !!!27 of 33 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
I like this fryer and it does a good job. I only one thing that I think could be better. I find it cumbersome to fiddle with the lid every time I put something in it or check on it. I think it would be better if the lid were hinged so you wouldnt have to mess with finding a place to put the hot lid down when removing items from the fryer. Another thing, if you accidentally fill the fryer over the max line, you need to be aware that it will overflow on your counter when you are using the filtering feater and emptying the oil into the container. Other than that, it works great.25 of 32 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
The unit frys fine, but the oil drain system has some kind of thermal switch so it wont let you drain the oil when its hot. We didn't know about this feature and switched it to drain and couldnt figure out why it wouldnt drain. After an hour of cooling the unit decided to dump all of its oil on the floor. This switch can be easily and accidently switched without your knowledge and the same oil spill will occur.23 of 42 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
Deep Fryer at its best
Excellent product easy to work with and even more easy to clean.
The automatic filtration system allow you to have an always clean oil.
Very good quality, highly recommended
Works as stated...
the fryer really does a nice job with storing the oil in its base. Good seal on the container helps keep the oil fresh and prevents messy leaks. I love how the whole thing just goes in the dishwasher (minus the heater of course).
If there was one complaint it would be the size of the usable frying area. Even though it holds a lot of oil there just isn't a lot of usable space for actual food frying. Maybe you could get 10-12 wings in here at once. I love the thing, but just wish it was a bit bigger. Seems to be a bottleneck when cooking for a group.
Best Deep Fryer Ever.
I am 65 years of age and I can tell you me and my familey have gone through many deep fryers. The Emerilware from T-Fal is the best we have ever used, it does all it clams20 of 23 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
It truely is a marvel
My teenage, football playing sons are always after me for fried foods. Being a good dad I try to accoomodate them with what they want. I went through several deep fryers in the past few years, always trying to save money. Then I read the multitude of super reviews on this deep fryer and decided to kick a buck and go for it. I'm sincerely telling you now that you will not regret getting this fryer if you do. It does all the things the people say in these reviews and more. The engineers who dreamed up this system should be given an award. You fry up what you want then let the system cool. ALL of the oil drains to the tank on the bottom. Then you take out the pan, wipe out the crumbles (including tiny particles) that are the solid residue left over, and your unit is ready to go again. You will end up saving money on oil, I use canola, because the filtration system removes all the tiny bits that eventually burn and mar the taste if left in the oil. The heating element is a powerhouse and you won't get soggy, oil soaked fries from oil not hot enough. Everything seems sturdily built, and up to date. I've had this thing about a month now and have used it several times a week. The chicken strips, chimmie chonga's, onion rings, tempura, french fries, pastry;s, etc., will taste like you bought them at take-out. I thought it would fit in my cabinet when not in use, but I underestimated it's size. I found a home for it on my kitchen counter. It looks good and we use it so much anyway. My advise? The bottom line is: If you like fried foods, stop playing around with cheap fryers and buy this one. Your family will love you for it.19 of 20 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Deep Fat Fryer
Greatest fryer I have ever seen. The filtering and the indication to change oil is great. Easy to take apart and clean. Have recommended to my friends. My wife is a General Manager for a restaurant and she was surprised how professonal the unit is.18 of 19 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »

If you need to fry...
This appliance is worth having. We traditionally fry our own tortillas for chips...we had no idea how much better they could be. The chips fried in the T-fal fryer are more crisp and have NO residual grease. In fact, if you remember the old Crisco commercial where they measure the fat after frying and it is all still there...well, that's what this is like. We even fried beignets with the same oil we fried tortillas with and there was no residual flavor from the tortillas.15 of 17 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Great appliance at a fair price
It's a little on the flimsy side since the metal is not very heavy, so I am worried about the longevity of it, but overall, if you're in the market for a fryer, this should be a top contender. Pros: Capacity, filtration system Cons: Breakaway cord (too easily breaks away) and flimsy construction.14 of 16 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
