My teenage, football playing sons are always after me for fried foods. Being a good dad I try to accoomodate them with what they want. I went through several deep fryers in the past few years, always trying to save money. Then I read the multitude of super reviews on this deep fryer and decided to kick a buck and go for it. I'm sincerely telling you now that you will not regret getting this fryer if you do. It does all the things the people say in these reviews and more. The engineers who dreamed up this system should be given an award. You fry up what you want then let the system cool. ALL of the oil drains to the tank on the bottom. Then you take out the pan, wipe out the crumbles (including tiny particles) that are the solid residue left over, and your unit is ready to go again. You will end up saving money on oil, I use canola, because the filtration system removes all the tiny bits that eventually burn and mar the taste if left in the oil. The heating element is a powerhouse and you won't get soggy, oil soaked fries from oil not hot enough. Everything seems sturdily built, and up to date. I've had this thing about a month now and have used it several times a week. The chicken strips, chimmie chonga's, onion rings, tempura, french fries, pastry;s, etc., will taste like you bought them at take-out. I thought it would fit in my cabinet when not in use, but I underestimated it's size. I found a home for it on my kitchen counter. It looks good and we use it so much anyway. My advise? The bottom line is: If you like fried foods, stop playing around with cheap fryers and buy this one. Your family will love you for it.
