It's almost like she is in the kitchen with you talking you through each step. I was conceived in Savannah, GA so I was compelled to buy this book & definetly feel a "connection". The recipes are clear, not too fussy, and delicious. Our family is also outside-activity and food centric, so the book struck a chord with us. Worth the price.

My sister and I poured over the one I gave to her and not only did we get excited about the recipes themselves we also enjoyed the anecdotes included throughout the book.

The recipes can be made easily without having to buy special ingredients that may only be used once.

This book is especially well written with great colored photographs of the food with a small note before each recipe of where the recipe came from and great tips and tid bits from Paula and her family. I watch Paula's cooking shows and she is a kick, what a great sense of humor.

Yes | No Report Violation »I feel like the advertising for this book was not specific - it was on sale and it was the book that had the autographed plate, however, that was limited, but it was NOT indicated in the advertisement - I am totally disappointed that I didn't receive the autographed edition because this is a Christmas present for my daughter who admires Miss Paula.

My son says we both have the same laugh. He was in a car accident on Oct. 11th and was in ICU for 2-1/2 weeks. He is now in rehab because of a brain injury sustained from being thrown from the car. I'm sure when I can get him home we will both enjoy trying these recipes together. He said he needs to learn to cook like me to carry on the family tradition of the holidays. My sister is in a foster nursing home due to a brain anurism and we cook every Thanksgiving for anyone who can't go home and the workers.
