Do you think that healthy food couldn't possibly taste good? Does the idea of "eating healthy" conjure up images of roughage and steamed vegetables? Author Ellie Krieger, host of Food Network's "Healthy Appetite," will change all that. A registered dietitian, Ellie is also a lover and proponent of good, fresh food, simply but deliciously prepared. And she's not about denial--no nonfat foods here, because when you take the fat out of natural foods, in go the chemicals. Don't deny yourself butter--use a pat of it, but put it front and center on those mashed potatoes, so you can revel in it with all your senses.
The Food You Crave is all you'll need to change the way you eat and change the way you feel. It contains 200 recipes that cover every meal of the day and every craving you might have. Every recipe contains a complete nutritional breakdown, as well as tips on ingredients and techniques that will keep you eating smart and eating well.

Sumptuous, Desireable, Flavorful
Ellie's recipes show a love for good food that is naturally healthy for you, but more important to me is the love and the intensity in which she has educated herself to making these recipes so delicously palitable. I don't cook simply for health reasons, nor do I persribe to that notion; but finding a cookbook that meets both needs, flavorful and healthful , is a dream come true. Ellie's healthy lifestyle reflects in her flawless complexion - a good testiment to healthy living. She reflects what the good life is all about. Hats off to her for her dedication and hard work and her love for the good things this life has to offer us. Diane Mayes

Fantastic book! Vegetables never tasted so good. Her recipes inspired me to cook and eat healthy with great pleasure. If you are a product of what you eat, I can only hope to get her beautiful glow.

I've watched Ellie on the Food Network several times and her food always turned out looking so good! I found one of her recipes online and gave it a shot and it was great - my husband loved it!! I'm not the best of cooks and am slowly learning how to become better, but her recipes are easy to follow and come out looking like something you would get at a restaurant. We bought the cookbook and are in the process of trying a new recipe at least once (sometimes twice) a week. I would recommend this cookbook to anyone who is looking for healthy alternatives and loves great tasting food. 5 stars for sure!!

I enjoy reviewing this cookbook for new ideas of old standards.
I have tried three of them now and have not been disappointed.
I also like that this there is not a lot of call for ingredients not found in the
average kitchen.
Wonderful
I love this book! The recipes are delicious and inspirational. The tips given throughout the book are very helpful. The photography is beautiful as well.
