  • A REMINDER OF DAYS GONE BY

I remember using an item similar to this back in the 40's. My older cousin was visiting from San Antonio and brought one with her and we all gathered in the kitchen as home made pot pies and desert were prepared.

    I recommend this product.

  • I remember we had one of these when I was a kid. My mother made sweet and savory sandwiches with it and they were great. Over the years it disappeared. I hadn't thought about it until I saw this on your website and knew I had to have it. I've made several sandwiches with it and they are as good as I remember them. Thanks for bringing back and old favorite.

  • What A Disappointment!

I was disappointed and returned the Toas-Tite. We had one growing up and my brother and I would both like to have it. I thought I would buy this one and that would eliminate having to share custody of the original. Talk about disappointed! Neither the material nor the fit and finish match the original. And it didn't help that this item looked used and arrived covered with scratches in a torn box. Maybe if you had never seen the original you would be pleased with this replica. Otherwise, pass on it.

  • Toas-Tite takes me back!

The Toas-Tite sandwich maker truly takes me back to my childhood. My grandmother had one and all of her grandchildren loved the little round "Toasted Cheese sandwiches" she made. Now with my own kids, being able to share that part of my past has been priceless. My kids love the sandwiches and now are begging to get another two Toas-Tite makers so they can make more than one at a time!

    I recommend this product.

  • Nostalgic!!!

As a child this was a staple in a family of five sons. We used the Toas-tite for sandwiches, apple pie and whatever we could create. Growing up I thought everyone owned one. When my parents passed away, we all sought out the familiar toas-tite and when we no longer could find it decided to start searching for it on-line. I have notified my brothers and you should be getting orders soon. Thanks for bringing back some happy memories.

  • I have not used any of the things as yet!

This was exactly what my mother used to make grilled cheese sandwiches when we were children. I am 85 now! Even the printed material that arrived with the toastite were the same as those when I was a child. How in the world did you manage to find them? I cook for one, myself, and I hate eating out except for very special occasions!

My mother used to make egg sandwiches for me, about the time this came out originally. I made egg sandwiches for my children and when my oldest child got marries and moved out he took that one with him. I was thrilled to see it, so I bought 3; one for the other two children so they can make egg sandwiches for their children and one for me. This also makes great hand pies. Be sure to use enough grease, at least the first time.

My grandmother made toast-tites for me as a kid, and I HAD to buy this product so I can do the same for my kids! Product is not as heavy as I remember the original, but it is sturdy and seems to be well-made. I have only used it twice, but have had no issues with "sticking", as other reviews have mentioned. I would recommend this product, and am thinking of buying another just so I can make 2 at a time!

  • Nostalgia

My Mom used to make toast tites for me my entire childhood and teen years. Fill it with peanut butter and jelly, cheese, or sloppy joe. You're only limited by your imagination. The little recipe folder was a nice inclusion. I'm 64 now and was thrilled to get this home. I bought one as a gift for my niece who has a three year old. She can grow up with the same memories I have.

  • It's a fun way to cook

I remember useing an item like this when I was a child. We do lots of family get togethers with lots of children. I cant't wait until they can make up what they want and try it. It cooks pretty fast so if I'm organized it should go fast enough.

  • Before using the Toas- Tite, I followed all the instructions in the accompanying literature, like seasoning it before the first use, buttering my bread on the outside surface, but inspite of that, the bread stuck to the Toas- Tite and was very hard to remove. I had to soak it before I could wash it. This is a very pricey product that did not deliver. I am sending it back.
