Great Product

This sharpener does a great job and is easily stored at the front of a drawer for quick access. I have had mine for several years and am never lacking a sharp blade.

The sharpener makes a great gift, and I'm in the process of giving one to each of the girls in our family.

Good value

Excellent product for the price. I like manual sharpeners over electric - I don't trust them on my good knives. I was sharpenening with a sharpening steel. This is Ten times better ! I would reccomend to anyone who has invested in a good set of knives. You won't believe the difference if you do not sharpen your knives regularly.

Stainless Steel Twin Select Knife Sharpener

by John, FL
April 29, 2008

Very robust and easy to use knife sharpener. I particularly liked the rubber feet which adds stability when operating. The product has two blades, one for course sharpening - removing any nicks in the blade etc. and the other for routine use to maintain a good sharp blade.

The instructions for use are a bit basic but adequate and the pictures on the website make it look a bit odd but once in use the reason for the peculiar shape becomes obvious and its performance is virtually unbeatable in a manually operated sharpener.

Dull knives are dangerous

by Judith, VA
February 18, 2009

I kept going along using my miserable old dull knives and ignoring the problem. Using dull knifes for slicing, chopping etc. is stupid & dangerous. I finally came to my senses & bought this lightweight sharpener that stores easliy in my knife drawer. Tasks are much safer & easier now. I'm glad I didn't buy an electric one. FYI: Always sharpen blades (starting from the handle & going to the blade tip) using ONE straight, pull through motion. I rated this a #4 because it does the job and I have nothing to compare it with.

Great tool

by Angela, TX
December 18, 2009

I needed to sharpen some knives I had, but was afraid of the "stick" sharpener after I saw a friend use his and with my clutsiness I didn't trust myself.

This tool is the BEST, it's safe, easy to use, small and compact to store it and best of all it WORKS great. I am so happy others had written reviews to say they liked this product. Can't beat the price and ease of use.
LOVE IT.

A very enjoyable experience

When I received the product my girlfriend was visiting me so I asked her if she wanted to give it a whirl. She had no problem and produced a fine edge on the 1st knife. Sadly when she figured out what I was doing she quit after the 3rd knife.

Simply the best sharpener ever made. Far easier to control the manual draw than to rely on electric motors.

Nice item, wish it sharpened asian style knives as well, they seem to require a different sharpener.

Good tool , little tricky

by Robert, LA
June 4, 2009

Using on dull knives, you have to be carefull to use light-even pressure or it will leave skip marks on the blade. I was satisfied with my purchase but it is has a tendency to not sharpen the tip of the knife very well.Overall, A good bargain for A camping, fishing or high abuse knife.I would'nt use on A high-end blade though. It put a decent edge on my set of wal-mart knives for the camp ground, and saved me having to buy another set. Paid for itself right there..thanx FN.

It makes life a bit easier.

by cathy, CA
August 23, 2010

It's only been two weeks in using the sharpener but it appears to make life easier for me in my kitchen. It takes the knife only a few runs on the sharpener and the knife cuts wonderful. I would recommend this product very much. The price is also very fair. Maybe purchase another for a family member for a holiday gift.

Dual knife sharpener

by Karyn, CA
February 10, 2007

This sharpener is compact, sturdy and appropriate to sharpen all flat-blade knives. I was ready to toss my old knives in the trash but after using the Twin Select Knife Sharpener, I now have more than enough knives to use.
I was able to throw my conventional knife sharpener in the trash as it was old and didn't sharpen anymore.

Thanks to Henckels, my life is in the SHARP LANE!!

Better than current butcher's steels

by Martin, NY
May 15, 2009

I've been sharpening domestic kitchen knives with steels for 50+ years, but in the last decade it's been difficult to get/maintain keen edges. Whether its due to composition of the knives or the steels. who knows. But the Henckel works for me. It may shorten the lives of blades by grinding off more than necessary, but knives are cheap and life is short.

by Jerome, MA
January 9, 2010

After many years in pursuit of the Holy Grail of knife sharpeners, looks like I've found it...this has it all: Ease of use, effectiveness in putting an edge on all my knives and renewing that edge with a few swipes through the ceramic wheels. The absolute best and a must-have in the kitchen or work shop.
