If you've got four minutes to spare, then you've got time to make homemade waffles thanks to the Krups WaffleChef Belgian Waffle Iron. The indicator light near the cool-touch handle alerts you when the Belgian waffle iron is ready to use, and the nonstick surface easily releases the waffles for a beautiful presentation every time. My daughter has the 2-waffle version of this Belgian Waffle Maker. It makes terrific waffles, but the capacity of 2 waffles at a time makes it difficult to feed a large breakfast crowd in a short time, so I purchased the larger waffle iron. In 4 minutes, I have 4 waffles and in less than 15 minutes, I have enough tasty waffles to satisfy everyone at the breakfast table! The iron browns both sides of the waffles beautifully - dark golden crust on the outside, tender and moist on the inside - and the 1-inch depth insures plenty of pockets to hold butter and maple syrup. I will admit that the first batch stuck to the bottom of the iron, but a quick spritz with cooking oil solved that issue. I've used this iron so often that it is now well-seasoned and waffles no longer stick. It heats rapidly, cooks evenly and the upright storage feature makes it a perfect fit in my cabinet.
I purchased this waffle iron because we love waffles. My old iron lasted 15 years but only made a single waffle. I was forever getting food to the table.
This iron makes four delicious serving at a time. I love it. The waffles are crisp and tender. Easy to clean. I often add fruit to the batter and use yogurt as a sauce. Compliments from all ages. Extra waffles are great re-heated in the toaster. I highly recommend this machine.
I'd never eaten home-made waffles before I purchased this unit. I've had the frozen kind, and was never very impressed. My wife loves home-made Belgian waffles, and I like to please her, so I searched for a waffle maker that I thoiught I could trust. The KRUPS waffle maker had the combination of price, features, simplicity, and reputation I was looking for, so I took a chance on it.
It took a little practice to make a good waffle with this unit - the included instruction/recipe book is nice, but it doesn't give you any idea of how much to put into the plates before you close it up. We went back and forth between a little dollap in the center to WAY overfilling the plate before we finally figured it out. Once I got that far, it cooked the waffles very evenly no matter how much I under-or-over filled, so we never had the problem of raw middle and burned exterior - everything was evenly cooked throughout.
I really like the vertical storage. Great space-saver. Overall, this waffle maker really lives up to the KRUPS reputation. I'd recommend this unit any time.

wafflechef belgian waffle Iron by Krups
This new one I have is much better than the one I purchased by Krups about five years ago. This new one, same model, allows the waffle to come off without sticking and I use fruit in my waffles. So, I am very pleased.
I have wanted to purchase a wafflemaker for some time. I researched quite a few different machines and really wanted a machine that just makes waffles. Krups quality is reliable in this product. THe machine heats up quickly and the waffle recipe in the product guide booklet works well and produces delicious waffles. Even though it is summertime now I have used this wafflemaker each weekend. Cooking.com was the only site I found the Krups and I am glad I did.
The kids enjoy using this. The only drawback is that it does not have a bell or light to let you know when waffles are done. The kids try to gauge it by when the steam stops coming out of the sides, which doesn't always work.
I purchased this item to use as a gift. What appealed to me on the item description was ease of storage, concealed and cord length. Since I will not be the one using it, I hope the description for ease in cleaning is truly easy. I was pleased that the iron has a button setting to show when iron is ready to use. Another feature of purchasing this item was the appearance, the depth for Belgian waffles, and the price. The recipient of this gift was thrilled, and really pleased with the appearance and updated features.
We have 3 grandchildren who come twice a month and stay with us over the week-ends, and their favorite breakfast is a waffle. This waffle iron has made it possible to feed them all at the same time. It makes a great waffle!!
