  • MOST HELPFUL REVIEWS

  • My daughter has the 2-waffle version of this Belgian Waffle Maker. It makes
terrific waffles, but the capacity of 2 waffles at a time makes it difficult to feed
a large breakfast crowd in a short time, so I purchased the larger waffle iron.
In 4 minutes, I have 4 waffles and in less than 15 minutes, I have enough
tasty waffles to satisfy everyone at the breakfast table! The iron browns both
sides of the waffles beautifully - dark golden crust on the outside, tender and
moist on the inside - and the 1-inch depth insures plenty of pockets to hold
butter and maple syrup. I will admit that the first batch stuck to the bottom of the iron, but a quick spritz with cooking oil solved that issue. I've used this iron so often that it is now well-seasoned and waffles no longer stick. It heats rapidly,
cooks evenly and the upright storage feature makes it a perfect fit in my cabinet.

    I recommend this product.

  • So Simple--So Good

I purchased this waffle iron because we love waffles. My old iron lasted 15 years but only made a single waffle. I was forever getting food to the table.

This iron makes four delicious serving at a time. I love it. The waffles are crisp and tender. Easy to clean. I often add fruit to the batter and use yogurt as a sauce. Compliments from all ages. Extra waffles are great re-heated in the toaster. I highly recommend this machine.

  • What a pleasant surprise!

I'd never eaten home-made waffles before I purchased this unit. I've had the frozen kind, and was never very impressed. My wife loves home-made Belgian waffles, and I like to please her, so I searched for a waffle maker that I thoiught I could trust. The KRUPS waffle maker had the combination of price, features, simplicity, and reputation I was looking for, so I took a chance on it.

It took a little practice to make a good waffle with this unit - the included instruction/recipe book is nice, but it doesn't give you any idea of how much to put into the plates before you close it up. We went back and forth between a little dollap in the center to WAY overfilling the plate before we finally figured it out. Once I got that far, it cooked the waffles very evenly no matter how much I under-or-over filled, so we never had the problem of raw middle and burned exterior - everything was evenly cooked throughout.

I really like the vertical storage. Great space-saver. Overall, this waffle maker really lives up to the KRUPS reputation. I'd recommend this unit any time.

    I recommend this product.

  • This is sturdy and the waffles are deep. I have only used it for one batch. It is very easy to clean. I do not like that it is heavy, the open-latch sticks a little. It is difficult to tell when the waffles are done and whether one has filled it with enough batter. I am going to practice a little because I think it probably has more to do with me than the iron.

  • Best on the market

We absolutely LOVE this waffle iron. This is not a tiny little cheapo! Makes big waffles and cooks them consistently. Wanted one made specifically for waffles (not a 3 in 1) and got just what we wanted. Only drawback is the handle is hot when you are cooking so use a hot pad when opening.

  • Best Waffle Iron I've Ever Owned!

I'm very happy with the quality of this waffle iron. The size of the waffles are generous, there is no sticking and they cook up nice and golden brown. Well worth the price!

  • Love that it is huge!

    Pros:
*Huge cooking surface. One batch of alton brown waffles is only three rounds of waffles!
*Great heat capacity, toasts waffles well without burning.
*Although huge, it stores well as it can stand vertically.
*I really like the yeast and baking soda based waffles I have made so far! Have not tried fruit yet though.

    Cons:
*Somewhat difficult to fill because it is so big.
*About as difficult to clean as previous models I've used. (use a brush!)
    *Handle is pretty hot.

To me, the pros far outweigh the cons.

    I recommend this product.

  • Belgian Waffle Iron

This is a good product, but you must season it well and make sure you put enough spray on pam or whatever. My first batch of waffles did not come out well. The next time I used it, they were perfect. So, would probably suggest doing a test run.

  • I think the waffle Iron is great the only down fall is that it does not have removable plates, therefore making cleaning a bit challanging. Otherwise I have no problem. Oh except that the handle gets very hot so when your cooking you have to open and close the lid by using the lock latch.

  • Best for the money

We had and have enjoyed using the half-size version of this waffle iron. When moving up to this bigger size we originally went for a Black and Decker. Big mistake. One side burned while the other side didn't cook. Other had teh same experience so we sent it back and got this one. It is batter hungry, but it makes great waffles. The handle gets hot so be sure to use the latch to lift the top up.

This is a great waffle iron for the price. Makes perfect Belgian waffles and doesn't take up a lot of space on the counter and it isn't too heavy. It does an excellent job and I have no complaints.

  • Great waffle maker for the money, One caution

Takes a little tweaking to find the right amount of batter to use for each waffle, but once you do, they come out crisp and done to perfection. I also love the fact that this machine can be stored upright. One negative however, the steam causes the handle to get VERY hot, so be careful if it’s still steaming when you open it (use pot holder or wear glove). Otherwise, very happy with my purchase.

    I recommend this product.

  • We were convinced in reading the other reviews that this would be a great iron to replace our slightly aging current iron. Two glaring flaws: the handle becomes too hot to touch (instant burns) therefore requiring the use of hot pads (which other models do not require) and we second one of the minority opinions that the notification light is not designed to be useful. The unit has one, but you don't use it to see when the waffle is done, just that it is working. Truly odd. We will return it as soon as possible, and try another flavor.

  • It's hard to find a 4-waffle maker, but this is a good one. It makes fairly thick waffles, but they have more holes than a normal Belgian waffle so they are crunchier. I'm not a big fan of Belgian waffles, but these are delicious because of the crunchiness. Only problem is that the back left waffle tends to get more cooked than the rest, so we remove it first, then close it up to finish cooking the rest. Not a big deal. Clean up is easy. I've been using Krust-eaz just-add water-and-oil mix. East, quick and delicious.

    I recommend this product.
