This is truly the supreme bread machine! The Zojirushi offers advanced options for your bread baking. It gives you the choice of using the dough cycle by itself, then finishing in your regular oven. In addition, you can make dough for crisp pizza crust, light dinner rolls, mouth-watering cinnamon rolls, hamburger or hoagie buns, artisan breads, sourdough, gluten-free breads and cakes - the possibilities are endless. It even makes fruit jam and has the power and durability for hearty whole grain dough. Twin paddles provide superior kneading action so you get well-raised breads with great texture.

To use, simply place your unmixed ingredients in and choose your setting. The machine alerts you once your bread is ready. The control panel is set at the perfect angle for easy viewing, and the bigger-than-ever window lets you see what's happening inside. With this model, you can open the lid during operation, for adding fruits and nuts without resetting the cycle (it keeps running with the lid open). Choose from a full set of pre-programmed cycles for a variety of breads or create your own custom cycles. You can also program in your own favorite recipes for later use. Recipe & instructions booklet included.

Exceptional product

by Amy, AA

I love this bread machine. It is the first bread machine I have ever owned, and I bought it based on the high recommendations of other users who have posted reviews on this website. I have never had any luck at all when it comes to baking bread. Plus, now we are living in Belize City, where the bread is AWFUL!! I decided to purchase a machine so we could have fresh bread that tastes good.
The machine is very easy to use, and makes a nice loaf of bread. I have made several loaves already, and they have all come out really good. I have followed all the recipes exactly, and have not had any problems at all. The only thing I don't like about it is that the bread bakes with the little paddles in it. They aren't very big, but they do leave holes in the bottom of the bread slices once it is sliced. I read that it is possible to remove them before the baking cycle begins, but I have not attempted it yet.
Also, every time I have ordered from Cooking.com, my order is shipped very quickly. I was pleasantly surprised to receive my package within one week of placing my order, which is almost unheard of, even to an APO address in another country. I will definitely order again from cooking.com, and recommend it to others.

Getting another one!

by Diana, CA
March 8, 2008

I bought this bread machine for only one reason. I have one I've been using for about 8 years now and my daughter wanted to know if she could borrow it. I'm so attached to mine because of it's ease of use, versatility and reliability that I decided to get one for my daughter as a gift. She was not only delighted, she's used it several times a week since. There are some great recipes included, but it's so simple to operate that I often use recipes from other sources on a regular basis. It also saves me money, especially as the cost of bread has begun to rise. The initial cost of the machine is worth the investment in fresh homemade breads for all purposes!

By Far the Best I've Owned

by Heather, NC
May 11, 2008

This is my third bread maker and I have to say I think I finally got it right. It is easy to use and the timer is a great feature. The beeps when it is time to add your extra ingredients makes fruit breads very easy and I have yet to make a loaf that didn't turn out beautifully. I like the extra large window to check on the process and the variety of choices for dough cycles and crust colors. It is a little too big to keep on the counter all the time but it's easy to move and not very heavy.

LOVE THIS MACHINE!!!!!

by Michelle, MN
January 25, 2009

I had wanted a new bigger bread machine for a few years, but couldn't justify it until mine died...my old chefmate 1.5lbs was on 11 years & still trucking but...my husband helped me out by encouraging me to sell mine on craigslist so that I could justify a new one .. He was right - it sold!! Zoj here I come! I had researched brands for awhile & based on the solid reviews everywhere (including King Arthur Flour using the zoj in their test kitchens...) Zoj was the winner. I've had it about 3 weeks now & have made 15+ breads & doughs. I have been very pleased with all the results so far. Machine runs quietly (beeping for

Having Fun With This Bread Machine!

by Sheryl, IA
March 25, 2009

Did a lot of checking into bread machines before I settled on this one. My Mom has made bread for 40 years, but no longer can, so I wanted the bread I make to be wonderful. Since purchasing this bread machine, I have made a White Bread with potato flakes and a Maple Wheat Bread. Both recipes are from All Recipes.com and both are fabulous! The machine is easy to operate and we all know how good bread baking makes the house smell! I would recommend the Zoji to anyone wanting to make bread. I have made several loaves since receiving my Zoji and have not had a bad one yet! After reading reviews, I was afraid of a failure for the first couple of trys, but not so. This is an excellent bread machine!

After 12 years I finally broke down and investedin a new bread machine. This was definately the one to get.Other bread machines cannot compare to this one. I use my freshly milled flour and this machine handles with ease, producing a gorgeous loaf for slicing. The dough cycle is very handy for pizza dough for my family. The double kneader is the key to this machine's heavy duty capability. Another nice feature it has are the memory cycles...plenty for your own recipes! I love this machine so much I just bought a 2nd one for my Dad for Christmas as he is always making sourdough bread and this has a sourdough starter cycle as well. Don't waste 75-100$ on a cheap machine, rather invest it this one, as you will not be mistaken.

First loaf was picture perfect...since that time every other loaf is very irregular in content. Some are mixed "pretty well" while others are almost rejected by the birds in our yard. This after making 6 different batches.Double beaters are particularly difficult fit. Instructions say "push down firmly." There does not seem to be a click or anything to let us know otherwise. I press. My wife presses. No sound. No difference. I should have listened to others and bought your other choice which you advertised as the "top model" exactly two weeks AFTER our machine arrived.
If I could return this product...

Making Gluten Free Bread

by Christine, IL
December 29, 2006

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son inlaw and daughter (but sent it to them early). My son inlaw has Celiac's Disease and can only eat gluten free breads. They have tried several bread machine with no real success or consistency in the baking. So after reading several reviews on web sites such as Zojirushi.com, Glutenfree.com, Cooking.com and a couple others, I figured I'd give it as a gift. Well, between the recipes on several sites and the gluten free bread baking instructions from Zojirush.com and Glutenfree.com, I think we have a WINNER. My son inlaw has be more than please with the consitency in the baking and recipes. My daughter likes the baking and said this is really easy to use, so it frees up more time for baking in the oven. I give it a 10 out of 10, when it comes to their opinion.
I am answering the below questions for the daughers family.

Zojirushi Bread Machine

by Carolyn, MI
December 10, 2007

I used to have an older bread machine, the parts were for the most part unavailable. I decided to purchase this bread machine after extensive research and reviews. I find the bread is tasteless, lacks many opportunities for new recipes. When I try new recipes in this machine, they lack the love of bread.
I would like to know why you can not purchase a good bread machine with quality and flavor without making it by hand.

Much better than previously considered

by Evelyn, BC
March 9, 2008

This appliance has more than met my expectations although I find it a bit confusing to use (difficult to remember all the settings) since it is not intuitive and you have to keep the instructions handy all the time. Makes the best bread as compared to other bread makers though. This unit is very versatile.

Best bread machine I ever owned

by Susan, MA
November 2, 2008

I've owned a few bread machines in my day and none of them compare to this machine. I do wish it had a light to see through the viewer window while it's working (every one finds it fascinating to watch) but putting it in a spot with an overhead light works pretty well.

I love to use it to mix dough in order to make pasta, bread of all types and any recipe that requires mixing.

Clean up is easy.

I love this bread machine, it's the best machine I've tried. Once you master the homemade course on the machine, the sky is the limit.

Man that likes to make bread.

by Don, WI
February 3, 2009

I purchased a Zojirushi Bread Machine several weeks ago and like it very much. You get what you pay for! I looked at other less expensive machines and there is no comparison. The construction and weight of this machine make it an excellent choice that will last for many years in our home. My wife and I grind our own flour from wheat berries and love to make home- made bread. I just started adding cinnemon and raisins and the bread is mouth watering. I refuse to buy store bought bread ever again.

Nothing Fab but there are better solutions

by joanna, NC

I don't know why people go bonkers over this machine. It's huge and doesn't seem as sturdier as the smaller ZO 1lb loaf machine, which is almost the same price but much more compact and IMO better for every task EXCEPT that it doesn't program like this one does.

Yes that's the ticker - programmability. This 2 lb ZO smokes any other bread machine that I've tried in it's ability to do a variety of breads. Should that be your game; spelt and sourdough for example and you're seeking convenience this is your machine. Otherwise I would seriously look at its smaller beefier brother.

Can't forget Cooking.com. If I could give them 10 stars I would. This is the only place that I go to for my cooking needs. And I have several high end epicurean stores nearby that can't touch Cooking.coms' variety of products, availability, and superb customer service.

Great machine, yummy bread

by Lisa, AP
November 2, 2009

After reading a few reviews I decided to break down and order the Zojirushi Bread Machine. I cannot believe how easy it is to use, it really is fool proof. I wondered if I would be as happy with the bread I make in the machine as I am of the bread I make by hand. I am. The white bread (recipe in user manuel) is light and fluffy and very flavorful. I also made honey oat bread and was quite pleased. I like the traditional shaped loaves it makes. If you're in the market for a bread machine, read the reviews on the Zojirushi and I am confident you will order one and be as pleased with your purchase as I.

I just got this last week and have baked 2 loaves of whole wheat bread. I made both the 2lb and the 1.5 lb.
I found the 1.5 lb to be a better size as it was not as tall.
So far it has worked great and the bread was delicious.

Don't buy anything else

by Becca, WA
February 22, 2010

This is my second bread maker - and I got this same model years ago but my sister in law used it more than I did so I sold it to her (dumb!). So here is the second. And years later - it hasn't changed. You can literally bake anything in this baby. Cake, muffins, let the buns mix and rise and then take it out when it beeps and make rolls and bake in oven, banana bread... you get the idea.

Don't buy anything else. I bought my first one from cooking.com too btw.

Supreme Bread Machine by Zojirushi

by Rita, OK
April 8, 2010

This new bread machine has been used to make bread, buns, and zwieback since its arrival a couple of weeks ago. Each time, the directions were easily read and easily memorized. The end product was a good quality, and my family has really enjoyed the breads. The timing on the machine has always worked out perfect, and cleaning is very easy and quick. This machine has been everything I expected and more. I love it.

I think this product is the best thing to come along since sliced bread itself! I really love it! It's a doll!! I used to love making bread, but I absolutely hated all the tedious time-consuming drudgery and labor involved!

So far, I've made about five loaves of bread with it as well as some Strawberry Jam. You NEVER touch the
dough until the bread is done & baked!

All you do is add your water or milk and all of your ingredients to the baking pan after you've made sure that the kneading blades are in place, place and lock the pan into the unit's oven, set the controls, let the machine do its thing, and in 3 hours you'll come back to enjoy a hot freshly baked loaf of bread!!

It saves you a lot of labor and hard work because it does all of that for you!

You no longer have to be a slave to making dough for bread. Gone are those days of drudgery where it took about 8 hours or so to make bread!! Say goodbye to the old dinosaur way of making bread!!
