This is truly the supreme bread machine! The Zojirushi offers advanced options for your bread baking. It gives you the choice of using the dough cycle by itself, then finishing in your regular oven. In addition, you can make dough for crisp pizza crust, light dinner rolls, mouth-watering cinnamon rolls, hamburger or hoagie buns, artisan breads, sourdough, gluten-free breads and cakes - the possibilities are endless. It even makes fruit jam and has the power and durability for hearty whole grain dough. Twin paddles provide superior kneading action so you get well-raised breads with great texture.

To use, simply place your unmixed ingredients in and choose your setting. The machine alerts you once your bread is ready. The control panel is set at the perfect angle for easy viewing, and the bigger-than-ever window lets you see what's happening inside. With this model, you can open the lid during operation, for adding fruits and nuts without resetting the cycle (it keeps running with the lid open). Choose from a full set of pre-programmed cycles for a variety of breads or create your own custom cycles. You can also program in your own favorite recipes for later use. Recipe & instructions booklet included.

I love this breadmaker!

by Barbara, IA
January 5, 2008

I bought a breadmaker about 20 years ago-paid half of what I paid for this one but it was so unpredictable & a real pain to clean. This breadmaker is so easy to use & my first loaf came out perfect! Wish there had been more recipes with it but it's a great start!

The best of the 4 bread machines we purchased

by Delores, IL

We haven't tried everything yet but the Italian bread with the hard crust and then the softer crust is great. My husband then slices it with an electric knife and is it great for sandwiches or french toast. We love it.

Bakes perfect bread! I have yet to use the dough cycle which is the real reason for the purchase. Overall, it baked great loaves and I love the shape compared to the other machines.

Gluten Free and Delicious!

by Doug, WA
September 8, 2009

My Zojirushi makes gluten free bread-baking a snap! I keep the dry ingredients for each batch in a zip-bag so all I need to do is drop the eggs, molasses, water, oil, honey and apple cider vinegar into the machine, mix in the dry ingredients as the mixing knobs turn, scrape it down and walk away! Each loaf I've baked has turned out better than the last, so I know that eventually I will have the perfect gluten free loaf. The flavor is outstanding and because it's so easy, I have home made bread all the time, regardless of the heat of summer or the rush of the school year. Outstanding.

Great versatile machine with good directions

by Susan, IN

This is my second bread maker I have owned and it is AWESOME. The recipe book with it is very detailed and has tons of recipes. I got brave and made croissants for Christmas. I was surprised how well they came out and they weren't nearly as hard as I had imagined they would be, thanks to the cookbook. So far, I have made 2 loaves of white bread, pizza dough twice, and the croissants. I expected this machine to make good white bread (it does) but I chose it for the versatility and it has not disappointed! The pizza dough can be made in as little as 45 minutes when using quick rise yeast, making it very practical to use the machine to make a tasty meal, add the baking time and you can have homemade pizza in about an hour from start to finish. I cant wait to try the soft pretzel recipe, the breadsticks and some of the wheat breads. Great versatile machine - a little pricier than some machines, but worth the cost due to the versatility.

We just bought this machine to replace an older Zojirushi bread machine that we got 5 years ago. We estimated that we made over 300 loaves of bread with the old one and hope to get that many out of this one. We had not had to buy bread during that whole time. Having not had it for a couple of weeks I realized just how good the bread is that comes from this machine. I did a lot of research reading reviews and comparisons between the different manufacturers and although it is a bit pricey compared to some we figured out that the cost per loaf of bread over the last few years was actually only about $0.30 each. You can't get a better deal than that. It also has a lot of nice features. Overall, a great machine for a family of 5 who enjoy healthy, fresh food.

My children grew up eating home baked bread. We used a recipe from my grandmother and made 4, 1 1/2 loaves at a time. I continue to use that recipe, but bake only for two people now and have trouble finding the time to bake even for two.

I had eaten bread from a breadmaker about 13 years ago. It was OK, but the loaf was too small and I do not know what recipe was used. So, when I began to investigate bread making machines, I was only interested in a machine that would make a 2 pound loaf that would resemble the loaf shape and size I made.

I found the Zojirushi machine online and read many reviews before I ordered one. I thought that the price was sort of high, but the machine is made well and produces a very nice loaf. I have made Basic White Bread and Cinnamon Bread using the recipes included with the machine. I have made several loaves with my own recipes and have adapted my grandmother's recipe.I have used King Arthur's Flours (both regular unbleached, their white whole wheat and semolina) and their dry milk for baking.

The loaves are large and the texture is very nice. I cannot believe that a machine can knead a loaf with two little mixing arms and produce such nice texture. Cinnamon Raisin Bread is one of our favorites, but for regular white bread we prefer my grandmother's recipe. I sometimes find myself watching the machine knead the bread since I still find it unbelievable that a machine can produce a nice loaf.

My only issue with the machine is that it seemingly cannot produce a properly browned crust on the top of the loaf.

Great machine and lots of fun. At least that's what I've been told by my 11-year-old son. All I'm allowed to do is supervise! He doesn't even need me to do that anymore. He made a loaf all by himself and I came home to piping hot bread.

I like all the options we have, and we've played around with all of them. All those buttons seem daunting, but the instructions are pretty well laid out. This is our first bread machine, so we had no idea what to expect. We have been pleasantly surprised, and so have our neighbors, who also get fresh bread!

2 lb. bread maker by Zojirushi

Began using it the day I received it and it has been great. Loaves of bread have come out very nice, and it is nice to have a machine that makes a loaf of bread that looks like a loaf of bread. Whole wheat cycle is excellent, and alarms are loud and easily audible.

Bread machine

by Diana, CO
May 11, 2008

It makes good bread, but I'm having difficulty adjusting the recipes for high altitude, a couple haven't turned out like I would like. And, as I use freshly ground whole grain flours, it's a double whammy. But, the first white bread recipe that I made turned out very well and it was very tasty. Gone in no time.
It is very easy to use and I love the fact you put in the ingredients, set the timer and never have to think about it again!

Zojirushi Breadmaker

by Dennis, PA
October 27, 2009

Bread making can't get any easier than this.To date my wife and I have tried the Basic White and Basic Whole Wheat. This was the first whole wheat bread that I can say I actually enjoyed eating. I pour a little olive oil on a slice and it and it is good to go. This is October and we live in Pennsylvania so I can envision many loaves of bread to accompany the soups and chowders that we enjoy during the colder months.
I would recommend the Zojirushi if asked.

I have had a Dak breadmaker for several years so have many of my own recipes. So my first try at making bread with the Zojirushi breadmaker was very disappointing. But then I tried making just the dough and baking it in a pan in the oven and found that this way I can use my own recipes. So unless I can find someone who repairs Dak breadmakers this is the next best thing.

My only complaint with this machine is that it tends to overbrown the sides & bottom of crust on the medium setting. I have not yet tried a light crust. Otherwise, I have used it twice successfully and feel that it is the best bread machine on the market. I have been a home bread baker for several years and enjoy the work that this machine does for me. For authentic looking breads you may wish to use only the dough cycle and shape and bake in your own oven.

The bread is dark on the bottom and sides and the wheat bread I made is high on one side and low on the other side. I thought I read some place that you can take the paddles out before it starts baking the bread but cannot find information in the instruction manuel.

I love the large loaves of bread it makes, along with the other options to bake cake or make jam.
