Already well-used addition to my kitchen

Overall, I'm pleased with the programmable crockpot but the programmable function isn't what I thought it would be. You can't choose a separate time and temperature. There are 4 programmable settings, High/4 hrs, High/6, Low/8 hrs, Low/10 hrs.

When I saw "programmable" I thought I had found the answer to my "start time" problem. I wanted to be able to say start at noon and be ready when I get home from work rather than start now, as I leave for work, and sit on warm for the afternoon. Instead, I'm still using a lamp/vacation/timer plug in and not really happy with being forced into only 4 cook time choices. It cooks nicely and the size and clean up are great, but I'd rather have cook time flexibility if I can't have start and stop times.

I bought this while I was purchasing the programmable roaster (another fantastic product) and it is worth every penney.
For meals that are smaller or require a gravy/sauce in which to cook this was perfect. My first (ever) crockpot meal was a brisquet that turned out perfectly and I am always confident in the Rival brand.
I look forward to many, many more uses as the winter months loom large!

First time user

I always wanted a crock-pot, so I couldn't wait to use it. I tried a slow cook recipe for old fashion stew beef. On Sunday my family loved it. You put everything you need in the pot set the time and go. "that it" Everything turn out great the meat was tender, vegetables were very seasoned. I had the whole day to just lay around the house. I will never give it up.

Cooking temp

I like this crockpot the I would like it if it cooked at a lower temp on the low settings If I put it on 10hrs even frozen food is done in 6hrs.

One Terrific Slow Cooker

This Rival Crock is replacing a dependable 30-year old mainstay. I anticipate many one-pot-wonders from this utensil...

Because it's programmable, I have the freedom to choose exactly how I want my meal to cook. We've used this almost once/week since we got it. Great bargain for a great product.

crockpot

I have had this crock pot for several years and recently bought one for my daughter!

I broke down and bought a crock pot at a co-workers recommendation. So far, I've used it for chili and pasta sauce... but I also roasted an amazingly moist turkey breast, which was transformed into turkey salad and turkey tacos on leftover days. Great size, compact and easy to store.

Gave this as a gift to Mom. She loves it! Simple to use. Cleanup is easy.

This crock pot is easy to clean and large enough to cook a whole chicken. I really like the variety of timed settings and especially enjoy that the pot automatically switches to warm after the cooking time is complete. I don't have to worry about things overcooking.

Great crockpot

Since purchasing this product I have used it about 3-4 times a week! I use it to make soups and stews. I also made Mexican Shredded Beef with it and it was excellent. The meat was so tender!

like the pot not the best i have used but good

I like it but I prefer the Rival oval crock pot They both cook the same It's just a matter of preference as to the shape

I bought this as a gift for my daughter, who is an avid cook. She has used it several times and wrote me an email saying "I love this thing!"

Initial use

I have used this product several times. The first time I used it it had a burning smell (Electrical) is this normal? It is getting better with each use.
