It's easy to use, easy to clean, and the extra large feeding tube is great for chopping/slicing large items like cucumbers. I can crush graham crackers for crust in no time, and even use it to make bread dough. The 7 cup bowl is usually more than adequate for the job at hand. I use this more often than any other item in my kitchen!
I'm much happier with the DLC7 model than other cuisinart models I have seen, namely because of the bowl and lid assembly. This unit is much easier to fit together than any other model I've tried. The lid and bowl lock together easily, and the unit will not start unless the components ARE locked together, which is a great safety feature.
Overall, an excellent piece of equipment - I highly recommend it!
Quiet, powerful and easy to use and clean.
This was a gift- I selected it because I have an 11 cup and love it! I could not have made a better selection-for a family of 2 that doesn't cook every night this was the perfect size. Hands down, everything Cuisinart is the best on the market.

We had received a food processor as a wedding gift that was not the one from our registry so we couldn't return it. When it died and we bought this one I had no idea there were "better" and "worse" food processors. This weighs a lot. It is a small tank. I overfilled it with liquids, because I don't treat my appliances very carefully, and it was just fine. Our toddler was relieved because it was so much quieter than our previous machine, too. Although I was amazed at how expensive this was it seems to be a better product.
This item was purchased as a gift for my brother and he was absolutely floored by how wonderful this item works and best of all it has made life in the kithchen so much better. He looks forward to using it every single day and parties are that much more fun because of how quickly things get done with his food processor.
I was really surprised at how heavy duty this system was and I really appreciated the cd that came with it. I watched the CD and then was ready to use the processor. I have made serveral items so far and am very much impressed. I have had food processors before but have never purchased one of this caliber. I am glad I did. It is an awesome piece of kitchen equipment. I would recommend and support anyone to purchase the 7 cup Prep Food Processor by Cuisinart if they are serious about good quality equipment in the kitchen and want to make life so much easier.
My big, old Cuisinart was lost in our recent move -- finally decided I missed it enough to get another processor when I had to make salads for 30. This was a great choice: the seven-cup size is perfect for most jobs. Basic design hasn't changed much, but updates are good ones, especially the wide feed tube and the assembly of bowl to base. I used it for three different dishes the first day and am very happy with it.
