Euro Cuisine Automatic Yogurt Maker
Since nearly all of today's store-bought yogurt comes complete with things like high-fructose corn syrup (in yogurt, for crying out loud!), I decided I wanted to be able to make my own. I have only used this one a couple of times, but I've found the yogurt it makes to be thick and creamy and perfectly done. I like being able to create my own flavors (maple syrup with a touch of nutmeg is nice) and controling what goes into it. It's also nice to be able to use the wide variety of milks available -- not just cow's milk, but goat milk, soy milk, etc. It works well, and we can have only what we do want, not what we don't want in our diet. (WHY would they take a perfectly wonderful food like yogurt and stuff it with things like high-fructose corn syrup!)

I have yet to come out with a less than 'perfect' batch of yogurt, in my opinion. I've been making my own yogurt for the past 2 years and my biggest problem was inconsistent quality, sometimes it was great, but too often it was not. I wanted it to be perfect every time and now it is!
To be fair I will mention that the timer is the only thing I'm not thrilled with. My wish for a better timer would be that once the time is set, to have the dial move so you can see how much time is left in the process. Also toward the end of the cycle it would be great if a chime would ring to serve as a reminder just before the light goes off. Perfection !!!
Overall good value
I believe that this yogurt maker is a good value overall. The only compliant that I have is that the small jars make it difficult to mix in fruit or other topping in after the yogurt has been made. This makes it necessary to put the yogurt into a bowl before mixing, not a big deal just an observation.

I would also recommend the maker with an automatic shutoff, especially for people who might not be available to turn off the maker at the correct time.

Used one of the recipe directions that came with the machine. Easy to understand and follow. The machine worked like a charm and produced very good yogurt. I was impressed with the fact that there was no whey or liquid on the top when first opened. Very tasty! Am anxious to try different flavors for more interest. Good value!

I have tried to make yogurt in the past and never got the same results twice. This product keeps the yogurt at just the right temperature. I would highly recommend this product to anyone that is serious about making their own yogurt. Becuase the cost is so much less than premium yogurt it is affordable. I find myself using yogurt in more recipes now that it is so available. I live in a very rual area and large stores are 50 miles away. So if freshness matters to you this is a product must have.

The Yogurt Maker is just as specified - it's fine just as is. However my husband decided that he wanted to make it easier (no little bottles) so we purchased a 7 cup glass Pyrex bowl with a plastic lid for storage after the yogurt is made. That works well also.

I was looking for a yogurt maker and did a lot of research. So very happy with this one. My first batch was perfect. I did boil the milk as I have for subsequent batches. I've been using Horizon organic milk 1% and making cheese as well as having the fresh yogurt on hand. It is so wonderful to have the cheese and yogurt in the fridge.I mix the yogurt with fruit and honey and it's nectar. One of the best purchases of the last decade. I would recommend the auto turn-off feature.

We enjoy yogurt in our family and it's often the one healthy thing that our teenage Grandson will gulp down before school. Being able to make it at home is a great taste, nutritional and cost benefit, particularly with the variety of summer berries and melon.

I did alot of research before purchasing this product. As a 1st time user it can't get any easier. I love the glass jars as they keep the yogurt colder than plastic and the fact that they just pop into the dishwasher. The automatic shutoff is a great feature. Reviews of several products I read wished they had come with a thermometer and although this one doesn't I don't see that as a deal breaker. I already had several for my other cooking and just use one of these.
I've used 2% milk when I make the yogurt and will try soymilk soon. Love the fact that you can just load it up, turn it on and let it go. Good value for the money.
I am very happy with this yogurt maker. The glass jars keep the yogurt really cold. I love that old-fashioned feel of eating from a glass container versus plastic. It just seems cleaner somehow.
I was a little worried the first time I make the yogurt that the timer didn't count down the time, but the bell rang and the light indicated the time had elapsed.
It's very lightweight and easy to store during the week.
I am the only one who eats yogurt in my household, so the seven jars it comes with is enough. However, I would recommend purchasing extra jars for those who eat more.
For the first batch, I used non-fat milk and leftover storebought yogurt for the starter. It was delicious but a little grainy. For subsequent batches, I used a combination of non-fat and 1% milk which improved the texture.
I recommend this product without any reservations.
Great yogurt maker
Now that I have this yogurt maker, I've been making yogurt about 2x a week. It hasn't turned out the same each time, but it's always been good. I plan to expand my repertoire and try flavoring the yogurt as I get a little more experienced at it (though it's very easy)!

The yogurt maker works just as promised. The only problem I've found with it is that the middle jar is under a concave area of the lid and the condensation from the lid drips into that jar of yogurt - making is watery. I've learned to make just 6 jars, leaving the middle of the area empty.

I purchased this product because my favorite yogurt brand, Stonyfield Oikos organic Greek yogurt, has been out of production for several months. The Automatic Yogurt Maker allows me to make the same type of yogurt (although much of the work is done outside of the machine). What I like about it: glass jars, quiet running, automatic shut-off, small size. What I don't like: hard to clean jars and leaky lids. A previous reviewer recommended Alton Brown's recipe, and I highly recommend it too--especially if you like the thicker consistency of Greek yogurt

However, the time setting is very basic and once you set the timer for a particular time, if you want or need to change it, it must be unplugged. Another disadvantage of the timer is that it does not move so you do not know how much time is left, unless it was written down or remembered. Still, once you know the tricks, it works perfectly.

I bought this yogurt maker to be able to make my own instead of paying the high prices in the store for Vegan Yogurt. It took a few tries (but it wasn't the machine's fault) and I have not regretted my purchase for a single moment. Love the auto shut-off.
Did find that small canning jars (jelly) fit great and are quite a bit less expensive for a dozen rather than paying for a 2nd set of jars specifically made for the maker.
The unit seems very sturdy, well made and durable. I made my first batch of yogurt according to the recipe in the enclosed book, and it came out great...very creamy and just mildly tangy. The only objection (and the reason for only 4 stars) is that the jars are not completely watertight...yogurt whey leaks out if the jar is placed in a lunch bag or other place where it might be tipped.
The recipe seems to make more yogurt than the jars can hold (particularly when adding a container of store-bought yogurt). As an experiment, I took the leftover yogurt mixture, put it in a container and stuck it on top of the hot water heater (one of several ways to make yogurt without a yogurt maker). The yogurt in the yogurt maker was far superior in consistency. I therefore think this was a worthwhile investment.
Great Product!
I bought the automatic yogurt maker by Euro Cuisine and what I like the most is that it shuts off when it is done. After alot of research and comparing of prices/features this item rated a 10 (being the best) in all categories. I will buy from this company again. Thank you for such a great item.
