Butter falls down into water. Too hot in Fl. I change cold water every day, even tried using ice cubes.
No matter how small an amount of water I put in the bottom, under the recommended 1/3 cup the buter part is still in the water
This is a very good idea and works most the time. My only suggestion is make sure the bell is full of butter otherwise I have found if its half full it will fall out into the water.

I've had this item before,I bought it at homegoods for $9,had it for a long time and it broke and have not been able to find another. On the whole it works very well, from oct.to june, after that it's just to hot and butter melts and falls in bottom even with ice chips in it.
My sister wanted one, she has seen mine. My son gave me one last Christmas. I was very happy with the one he picked out for me. It was a Christmas surprise for me. I never expected it. Now my 47 year old son is puffed up because I purchased the Butter Bells for both my siblings. In fact it's been very fun talking about it. Thanks for making a good product.
The best invention since sliced bread for the ease of the summertime toaster, sandwich maker, and need a soft dab of butter now cook. The crock is ingenious. No more wrap covered stick on a saucer in the cupboard or saucer of microwave melted mess. Thank you.
I have seen butter bells for a while but was somewhat skeptical - didn't think it could really work. Was I wrong. This keeps the butter at the perfect spreading temperature - not too hard, not too soft. My only improvement to the design would be to have a marker in the crock to show the water level. Definitely pleased and would recommend to anyone butter lover!
I love this thing and will be buying more for gifts. I some how have never seen this before! I love natural butter and when kept at the perfect spreading temp I am using way lees than before. What a great product!
Why does the butter occasionally fall into water? We do try to press butter firmly into the bottom each time we fill it... Also make sure it is not in warm area...It has not happened again in awhile...Really enjoy having the spreadable butter at the ready and love the color red.
I'm sure that I love the Butter Bell for the same reason as most users: having spreadable butter always at hand. My butter intake has probably increased since I began using it, but them's the breaks! It cleans easily and blends perfectly into the decor of my kitchen. I've already given two more as gifts and will probably continue to do so until everyone I know has a Butter Bell Crock….
