Joyce Chen Woks & Stir Fry Pans

Cooking Asian-inspired dishes using a stir-fry method is a quick and easy way to create a flavorful and healthy meal for you and your family. Stir-frying simply means quickly cooking meats or vegetables that have been cut into bite-size pieces over very high heat. Woks are used in Asian countries to properly cook stir-fry meals. These oversize pans have a bowl shape that offers a large cooking surface so as much of your food as possible will quickly sear from direct exposure to the hot pan. Some woks come with lids, and others may have a side rack to set small pieces of food, such as the batter-fried chicken used in General Tso's chicken, to drain before serving. Many woks also come with a set of chopsticks or a mesh ladle so you can easily move the food around as it cooks. Woks and stir-fry pans are available in stainless steel and cast iron, and there are nonstick varieties available as well. Look for one that is large enough for you to cook for your family without crowding the food and that has the extras you need.

Popular Brands:

Some of our favorite cookware brands manufacture woks that will help you create Asian-inspired masterpieces. Le Creuset sticks with what it does best, and offers a variety of colorful enameled cast iron woks that will get the job done and look good in the process. Calphalon and All-Clad are also leaders in the cookware industry, and they both offer a variety of woks and stir-fry pans that will last you for years to come.
